This week at our AgeUk Eltham garden our lead gardener Kevin taught the volunteers to make drop scones with Jerusalem artichokes, thyme and chickweed. All the volunteers enjoyed the flavour and the look of the drop scones. They all were pleasantly surprised as Kevin has introduced ingredients that they had never tasted before. This is a prime example of Growing Greenwich allowing older people to gain new skills and knowledge/new experiences.
Late March is a lovely time of year, Full of hope as we see the bulbs and seedlings starting to pop through the ground. All the hard work the Kevin, Liz and volunteers have put in over the winter period is now. The front garden of AgeUk Eltham is coming alive.
